Keeping a cat as a pet in your home is a nice idea. If you are going to do this, then sooner or later, you will encounter the problem of behavior of the cat. No matter how good or nice your cat is; there would be plenty of things that your cat insists on doing, which will makes you feel anything like even a mild irritation.

Do not forget that what you may regard as an inappropriate or a naughty conduct, will be viewed by the pet as perfectly natural cat behavior. Never punish your cat while training, this would be unsuccessful. Even if the infection has been treated and cleared, the cat may continue insisting on urinating on the rug or anywhere else spot. You can change the type or brand of cat litter that you have been already using. Change the type of air freshener, or room deodorizer to any one with a different odor.
