Kittens are so soft and cute that you will love to handle them, but before bringing a new kitten home you need thinking about the things that you will require to do them as a part of basic kitten care. A suitable food dish, a water bowl, kitten’s formula food, brush and comb, litter box and cat litter, and a quality cat carrier.

You may want to have ready, a cat bed and bedding, toys that should be interactive; it would be a good move for acquainting the new kitten to a scratching post as soon as possible. You must consider that the investment in good basic kitten care would reward you with the affection and companionship, of a healthy cat for about 15 years or more.

Kittens that are under 12 weeks require feeding four times daily, up to 6 months the kitten requires to be fed 3 times each day. If you truly care for your kittens, then provide a quality branded kitten food for them. You should better avoid cheaper canned kitten or cat food; your little extra cost can provide better kitten care.

If possible, watch the eating habits of kitten, while throwing out the uneaten canned food after 1 hour, if you find any decrease in appetite of the kitten, this could be an indicator of something wrong. If you cannot be with the pet at the feeding time, you can place dry food.

Kittens may not seem to drink much but they often require fresh water left for them at all the times. You must wash the water bowl daily. Bear in mind that you should not give the milk of cow to your kitten, because this can cause diarrhea’s nasty bouts.
